Former champion jockey Clare Lindop is arguably the most accomplished female jockey Australia has ever produced.
Clare drew attention in the lead up to the 2003 Melbourne Cup, by becoming the very first Australian woman to compete in the race-that-stops-a-nation. Clare went on to ride 111 winners for the 2003 racing season, becoming the first female jockey to crack 100 wins in one season, and her record was only just broken in 2018.
In her time as a jockey, Clare rewrote the history books and broke down barriers. After years of consistently competing at the highest level in racing; Clare is an inspiration to a new generation of riders, and now sharing her stories to encourage others to reach their potential, with no excuses.
